It started with a project to help a group of businesses reduce procurement costs. Like most, we turned to China. We reached out to sourcing agents and agencies, expecting professionalism. Instead, we faced long delays, vague responses, poor follow-up, and no real accountability. None of them had a consistent local presence or a deep understanding of what serious buyers actually needed.

So we got on a plane and went to China ourselves.

In Guangzhou — one of the world’s largest industrial hubs — we worked with a local guide to organize factory visits and support negotiations. She wasn’t just a translator; she had deep, long-standing relationships with manufacturers and had helped international companies navigate the process for years. She quickly became our first on-the-ground sourcing agent.

That experience changed everything.
